Becoming Mom Strong

Hello!

Lets get real. I know most moms don’t have a huge amount of extra time on their hands. I know first hand! As a teacher though, I tell my sixth-graders they need to read at least a little bit everyday. Reading is so very important for our sweet kids! With that said, I’m trying to lead by example, not only for my sixth-graders, but also for my little one who watches everything I do.

I do my best (and sometimes fail) to read a few pages out of a book everyday. I just recently completed Becoming Mom Strong: How to Fight with All That’s in You for Your Family and Your Faith by Heidi St. John, and LOVED it! Some chapters I felt like Heidi was speaking right to me and knew exactly who I was and where I was in life. I laughed. I cried. I even bought the book for one of my best friends because I loved it so much!

Heidi encourages moms who read her book to stay faithful in their beliefs and to teach their sweet little disciples the love that God has for his children. As the back cover asks, “Have you ever looked into the faces of the people who call you Mom and wondered what in the world you got yourself into?” I know I have! In just fifteen chapters, Heidi talks about “how to cope when you feel like you’re in over your head, discovering God’s timeless guidance for parents in the Bible, navigating today’s toughest and most confusing cultural issues in light of God’s Word, and fighting the ultimate battle for your kids’ hearts and souls”. This book encourages you to be “MomStrong” and is a must read for moms of all different walks in my opinion!
