One Year Old Bedtime Routine

Hello!

As my little guy continues to grow, we seem to have to continually tweak our daily schedule, but one part of our day seems to, for the most part, stay the same.  Bedtime is one of my favorite parts of the day!  My little guy gets to enjoy his bath, we read a story as a family, he gets rocked and snuggled before going to sleep, and I get to pray over my little guy has he drifts off.

Now before going any further, our bedtime routine will not work for everyone!  As families, we all have our own ways of doing things.  🙂

Our bedtime routine usually starts around 6:45-7:15, just depending on if it is bath night, or if he is super cranky and ready for bed.  Jonathan gets a bath usually every other night.  He loves bath night!  I think my little guy would run around naked 24/7 if I would let him!  Bath night is his night to be free!  He splishes, splashes, and giggles continually.

After bath time, Jonathan gets his bedtime lotion, jammies, and teeth brushed.  We use a Frida Baby toothbrush which he has a love-hate relationship with.  He loves to chew down on it, but hates to let us actually brush his teeth.  I keep telling myself he is learning!

Last, but not least, Jonathan gets put into his Halo sleep sack and has a book read to him.  My husband and I typically switch off every night on who reads to Jonathan and puts him to sleep.  We both sit with him in the bedroom though while the story is being read.  I love this time of night because we get to share it as a family!  Jonathan loves story time!  He likes to help flip the pages, he points pictures out that he likes, and gets all snuggly in our arms while reading.  Finally, we give him hugs and kisses before rocking him to sleep.

I really do love our bedtime routine!  I know one day I won’t be able to have these little moments with our little guy because he will be grown before we know it, so I savor each and every moment I have with him!
