Daddy Approved Father’s Day Gifts

I won’t lie.  Buying gifts for my husband always seems to be a bit of a challenge.  This year though, he has had several items on his want list, so I had several things to choose from.  Regardless of what you choose to do for that special dad(s) in your life, I’m sure they will feel loved and appreciate the extra attention.  🙂

  • Gift From the Kid
Last year at this time, I was feeling very crafty and decided to come up with a gift for Jonathan (then 3 months old) to give to his daddy.  I honestly think this was one of his favorite gifts I have ever given him!  Even now, I will randomly catch him looking at the pictures grinning away.  I used cardboard to cut out a “D” and “A”, covered them with scrapbook paper, and had Jonathan pose with the letters.  I got my frame from Amazon!
If your kiddo is a little older, there are SO many crafts you could have them make to show love to their daddy.  Pinterest is a girl’s best friend! 😉20190612_09251084978653764784336.jpg
  • Matching Dad and Kid Shirts
This was another gift my hubby got last year, and loved!  I asked B. Williams Vinyl Designs to make matching super hero themed shirts for Colby and Jonathan.  She totally rocked it!  Hubby is a Captain America fan, so these fit the duo perfectly.  Plus, look how small my little guy was!20180617_101420782483897867242202.jpg
  • Books
There are so many good books out there for daddies to read!  One book my husband read recently and loved was Raising Men:  Lessons Navy SEALs Learned from Their Training and Taught to Their Sons by Eric Davis, a Navy Seal Sniper Instructor.  This book discusses how to raise your sons into men by using “discipline, leadership, adventure, and grace”.
Another book I have heard good things about is Clint Harp’s Handcrafted:  A Woodworkers StoryClint Harp is Chip and Joanna Gaines’ infamous table maker on The Fixer Upper.  His book is reportedly, “part memoir and part manual for dreamers”.
  • Grill and Grill Accessories
My husband just recently bought himself a smoker/grill combo.  He loves it!  If the daddy in your life is a grill master, there are so many accessories you can buy!  They have woks, grill tool sets, pizza pans, covers, grill bags, aprons, and more!
  • Cook Their Favorite Meal
One of my favorite ways to show Colby my appreciation is by cooking a meal of his choice.  Sometimes this may be a breakfast of cinnamon rolls or pancakes.  Other times, it may be us going  out to eat at one of his favorite restaurants.  This is one of the easiest ways to celebrate dad!  Plus, remember the old saying, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach! 🙂
  • Gift Cards
My husband loves tools.  He has far too many gadgets in the garage, but he loves them needless to say!  Now honestly, if I were to go shopping for a tool of some kind, or even anything technological, I wouldn’t come home with the gift he wanted.  Those things just aren’t something I’m good with!  Gift cards are the way to go.  If you know dad likes a certain store, gadget, restaurant, or activity, I’m sure he would be delighted with a gift card to that place!
