Disney On Ice

Okay, so I just have to say, I am so sad that I had never been to Disney On Ice before this last weekend! I had always heard about it being at the Oklahoma State Fair each year, but never gave it a second thought. This year though, we were invited by friends, and I was super excited for the opportunity to take my newly discovered Mousketeer!

Jonathan has just recently, in the last couple weeks, become completely obsessed with “Mouse”, as he calls the infamous Mickey Mouse. He has started requesting “Mouse” morning, noon, and night. Literally.

Much to his dismay, I’m a slight stickler about screen time. He gets to watch an episode in the morning before breakfast, and then another after his afternoon nap. These are some of the quietest minutes I experience all day!

So when we walked into the arena for the show, you can believe we heard “Mouse” on repeat as he saw Mickey Mouse plastered all over signs, t-shirts, cool lights, and, basically, everywhere! He would kick his little legs and point every which direction like his life depended on it.

Now what just about made me cry was when Mickey actually skated out onto the ice. My mama heart melted. Jonathan’s little finger was pointed out to Mickey, he was intently leaning forward, and yelled, “Mouse!” He was just so excited!

The show was really great! It was called Disney On Ice: Mickey’s Search Party. Throughout the show, we got to see Mickey and friends, as well as characters from Toy Story, Coco, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Moana, Aladdin, Tinker Bell, and the Little Mermaid. As the show was closing, we also got to see Pooh, Tigger, Snow White, and more.

With this being my first time, this was definitely a learning experience for me!  One thing to make note of is that the show is about 2 hours long and includes a 15 minute intermission.  If your little one is a wiggle worm like mine, they may start struggling about halfway through.  But it is so totally worth it!

Also, if you are able to, I would encourage you to smuggle in some snacks!  The snow cones and popcorn are definitely a pretty penny.  We took Jonathan some snacks which saved us from having to get him anything, but my husband also required a snack.  😉  Next time, I will definitely take in more to eat!

Another quick tip… I know it’s Disney on ICE, but the building was definitely not cold.  I know a certain someone *cough*my husband*cough* just knew I was going to be wrong, but I had done some research on the show prior, and this was one piece of information I learned.

Seriously, if you have never been to a Disney On Ice show, and there is one around you, definitely go!

I am in no way affiliated with Disney On Ice.  These are my own thoughts and opinions!

So until next time,

Okie Mom
