I recently posted about a devotional that I received for Christmas that I am absolutely loving! If you missed the first post, you can check it out by going here: When the Hustle Becomes Too Much. Since posting this, I have had several ladies ask questions about it and wanting to check mine out. So I thought I would give a few tips and tricks!
First off, one thing I learned on a Facebook Bible journaling group I’m apart of is that it is a great idea to get your book spiral bound. It is super easy to get this done at Office Depot or Staples. I took mine to Office Depot. She had it done in 10 minutes and it only cost $5.04! The book does NOT come spiral bound, but it is so much easier, in my opinion, to have your book lay flat while you are working in it.
I have also been asked about what supplies I use. Honestly, it’s really up to you and what you want to use! These are a few of the items I have used though:
- Pen of any kind! I tried using a Sharpie pen, which is what I usually use when I want to write in fancy letters, but it bled through the paper pretty bad. 😦 Just a forewarning for all the calligraphy writers out there! (You can see this on Day 16 below.)
- For Christmas, I also got an awesome set of watercolor paints. Now, I’m not a huge artist. I really don’t know what all you can do with them, but I’ve enjoyed checking them out! You can check out the set I got here. The great thing about these is that they also include paint brushes!
- I use a lot of stickers too! These make it easy to decorate when you are in a time crunch, or just don’t know what to draw on that particular day!
- Another product I use quite a bit are gel highlighters. I have a set like this! These don’t bleed through the paper, which is great when you are doing something like this where you are eventually working on both sides of the page.
Now, just to give you a glimpse into some of what I have come up with over the last 16 days, here are a few pages that I have come up with! Honestly, there are some pages that are just “eh”. When I’m in a bit of a hurry or Jonathan is trying to “help” things tend to go a little awry. Other pages though, I’m actually pretty excited about! 🙂
I hope this helps any of you that still had some questions about the devotional, but, if you still have questions, feel free to let me know! I’d be happy to help in any way!
